Welcome to the Aquin System Religious Education/Faith Formation program. We are excited to be part of your child’s faith formation experience. We are very excited about several new changes taking place in our program. Please be sure to read through this document in its entirety, as it has important information about the upcoming year.
** Please note that we have 3 options for high school faith formation: 1. Early Bird (7:00 - 7:55am once a week) 2. RTR (during a study hall time during the day once a week) 3. CCD on Wednesday evenings
Key Information For our Wednesday night CCD program:
1. For the 2022/2023 school year, we are planning to hold classes in person at Aquin each week, however, we will be dividing each grade level into A and B groups to make most classes around 10 students. Only one group will meet each week. The opposite group will be at home with a suggested family activity. In short, your family will only attend every other week in person for 1.5 hours per evening.
2. The classes will run from 6:30 – 8:00pm on Wednesday evenings.
3. All members of the same household are in equivalent groups and will attend class in person on the same weeks.
5. In the event that we will need to have remote learning, all catechists will be preparing a google form copy of their lesson each week, starting week 1. The entire lesson can/will be sent via email to parents when necessary. The form allows the students to work through the lesson, submit responses, watch any attached videos, and obtain teacher feedback. Lessons for younger students are intended to include recorded readings of the lessons from the book! Students will have the entire week to complete the online lessons and submit the form, if we are remote learning. *Please let us know if this format will not work for your family so we may make accommodations.
6. The first evening of CCD for each group will be an opening mass for ALL students on Sept. 7, 2022, 6:30pm. *A fall schedule can be found on the website.
7. We plan to follow all the same health and safety protocol as the Aquin System: (found at aquin.org)
8. The following forms need to be completed and returned by the first night of class: * OSE annual waiver: This form is to be filled out for EACH student attending, not one per family. * OSE Asthma consent: Please fill out only if this applies to your child. * Allergy and Medical Form: Please fill out only if necessary information about individual needs for your child are desired or helpful for the learning environment. * CCD Dismissal form: Please fill out one per family.
We believe, now more than ever, that our faith in Christ and His love for his people are crucial in times of uncertainty. In Philippians 4:6, the Bible tells us: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
I read an article recently that reminded me to turn to the Lord, not as a last resort, but as a first response.
Many blessings to all of you. We look forward to seeing you soon. Nicole
